Gülnur Ünlütürk İstanbul doğumlu müzisyen Gülnur Sayar, Esin Düren Sünkitay'dan ilk piyano derslerini 1980 yılında aldı. 1988-1989 yıllarında Gazi Üniversitesi Müzik Eğitimi Bölümü'ne başladı ve daha sonra Marmara Üniversitesi Müzik Eğitimi Bölümü'ne yatay geçiş yaptı ve mezun oldu.
Ardından 1992-1994 yılları arasında Marmara Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü'nde yüksek lisansını tamamladı. Bu süreçte, Fransız virtüöz piyanist ve pedagog Seba Baştuğ Şen ile birlikte piyanoda gevşeme teknikleri üzerine çalışmalar yaptı ve "Piyanoda Gevşeme Teknikleri" başlıklı teziyle yüksek lisans derecesini aldı.
